Middlesex University is seeking a strategic and experienced leader to take on the role of Head of Faculty Operations. This is a pivotal position within the Directorate of Student Administration, responsible for leading and shaping faculty operations across the University.
The postholder will work closely with Deans, Faculty Leadership Teams, and the Director of Student Administration to deliver a consistent, high-quality administration service that supports all Faculty Operations activity. The successful candidate will lead the development of standardised approaches to faculty operations while recognising and designing for local nuances.
They will ensure that core business functions are robust, data-informed, and aligned with strategic goals. The role involves oversight of key operational areas and will contribute to continuous service enhancement and innovation.
The Head of Faculty Operations will provide professional services leadership ensuring effective delivery of services across all faculties. They will support strategic planning, workforce development, and operational alignment with faculty business plans and university-wide objectives. The postholder will collaborate with senior university staff and external agencies to streamline processes and improve the student and staff experience. T
hey will play a key role in policy development, service design, and performance monitoring, using KPIs to drive improvement. The role also includes budget oversight, data reporting, and contributing to pan-university events such as induction, graduation, and welcome activities.
We’re looking for someone with deep experience in higher education operations, a sharp eye for detail, and the confidence to lead cross-functional teams. You will bring significant experience in faculty or programme operations within higher education, with a strong track record in strategic planning, team leadership, and service design.
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of relevant regulations and best practices in student administration.
