We are seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Primary Initial Teacher Education to join our Education Department. This post provides an exciting opportunity to join a forward-looking department with a longstanding reputation for excellence. The Department offers undergraduate and postgraduate Initial Teacher Education for university-led and employment-based routes. Our primary programmes are well established and have an outstanding profile of student outcomes.
This post is suitable for an experienced primary teacher and/or someone who has experience in Initial Teacher Education in universities, SCITTs or similar organisations. Experience of supporting trainees in school, and awareness of current developments in the field of Initial Teacher Education are essential for the role. For this post you will have specialist expertise in mathematics.
You will join an enthusiastic and highly successful team and play a central role in teaching on our popular primary programmes. As well as teaching Mathematics the successful applicant will be expected to contribute to Professional Studies and School Based Training across the primary programmes.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and requires a Disclosure and Barring Service certificate. You are therefore required to disclose details of any criminal record. ALL criminal convictions, cautions, reprimands or final warnings, even if they would otherwise be regarded as spent under this Act must be disclosed, as well as any other information that may have a bearing on your suitability for the post, including pending prosecutions.
