Job Description

Turn Insight into Impact at Middlesex University.

Are you ready to help shape the future of planning and performance in a diverse and ambitious university? We’re looking for a proactive and analytical Planning Analyst to join our newly formed Planning and Analytics team within the Strategic Planning and Performance Directorate. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of strategic decision-making, supporting institutional effectiveness through high-quality analysis, insight, and performance reporting.

While this role will focus on the Insights, Performance Monitoring and KPIs portfolio, we welcome applicants from a wide range of planning backgrounds.

As Planning Analyst, you will:

* Act as a business partner to academic faculties and professional services, supporting evidence-based planning and strategic delivery.

* Lead on performance monitoring and KPI reporting, helping senior leaders understand progress and identify opportunities for improvement.

* Analyse internal and external data to provide insight into institutional performance, sector benchmarking, and future trends.

* Collaborate with colleagues across the University to develop dashboards, reports, and predictive models that inform decision-making.

* Contribute to strategic forecasting, scenario planning, and risk analysis to support long-term sustainability.

* Champion innovation and continuous improvement, helping to embed a culture of data-driven planning and strategic alignment.

You’ll bring:

* Experience in planning, analytics, or business intelligence within higher education or a similarly complex environment.

* Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate complex data clearly and effectively.

* A collaborative mindset, with the confidence to engage stakeholders and influence decision-making.

* Advanced skills in Excel and data visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI.

* A passion for turning data into insight and insight into action.

Whether your background is in student number planning, performance monitoring, academic analytics, or engagement data, we’re keen to hear from you.

Why join Middlesex?:

 * Be part of a newly established team with the freedom to shape how we work.

* Enjoy a generous annual leave package (30 days plus bank holidays and University closure days).

* Benefit from flexible working arrangements, staff networks, and wellbeing support.

* Work at our well-connected Hendon campus, with excellent public transport links and staff parking options.

*Join a university that values diversity and is committed to creating an inclusive environment for all staff and students.
