Head of Planning and Analytics

Job Details:
Job Description

Are you ready to shape the future of planning and analytics at Middlesex University? We’re looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking individual to lead our new Planning and Analytics team. This is a unique opportunity to build a high-performing function from the ground up, working at the heart of strategic decision-making in a diverse and ambitious university.

As Head of Planning and Analytics, you will:

* Lead a newly formed team of analysts and specialists, each with a focus on key areas such as student number planning, performance monitoring, and business intelligence.

* Develop and embed innovative planning frameworks that support strategic priorities and deliver best value.

* Drive the evolution of our analytics capabilities, including the development of a modern, standardised reporting architecture using Tableau.

* Collaborate with senior leaders across the University to ensure data and insight are central to decision-making.

* Champion a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and evidence-based planning.

You’ll bring:

* Significant experience in higher education planning, analytics, or performance roles.

* A strong track record of delivering insight through data to inform strategic and operational decisions.

* Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a team.

* Advanced analytical and communication skills, with the confidence to engage stakeholders at all levels. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on innovation, enjoys working collaboratively, and is excited by the opportunity to shape a new function that will have real impact.

 Why join us?:

* You’ll be part of a newly established Strategic Planning and Performance Directorate, with the freedom to shape how we work.

* We offer a generous annual leave package (30 days plus bank holidays and University closure days).

* Our Hendon campus is well connected by public transport and offers a range of staff benefits including flexible working, staff networks, and wellbeing support.

* We value diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all staff and students.
