The study of fashion at Middlesex University is well established. Today the Fashion Directorate includes a Foundation Year together with BA Fashion Design, BA Fashion Textiles and BA Fashion Communication & Styling. Students benefit from exemplary technical workshop and studio resources and excellent academic and technical tuition, often from active fashion practitioners.

We are seeing to appoint a Graduate Academic Assistant for a period of up to 22 months. Graduate Academic Assistants (GAAs) are vital to the teaching team, acting as a bridge between the student body and the academic and technical communities.  As graduates themselves they provide support and encouragement to students sharing similar experiences to their own.

GAAs support the academic team with programme-specific administration and organisation such as preparing teaching materials and assisting at Open Days and events. They are not aligned to a single programme of study, but will be assigned by the Director of Programmes where need arises through the academic year, making for a dynamic and challenging post.

The post-holder will be expected to have:

  • a fashion related degree or a related field of study equivalent to a first or upper second class honours degree

  • an awareness of contemporary debates and issues in the fashion industry

  • and the ability to work with a diverse range of staff and students.

In return the University can offer you great developmental opportunities, a first class working environment, a location close to all forms of public transport and excellent conditions of service.

Middlesex University values diversity amongst its students and staff and particularly welcomes applications from under-represented groups.
