We are seeking to appoint two academic posts to join our growing Social Work Academic Group. Opportunities for the Think Ahead posts is in response to Middlesex University being the Think Ahead ( HEI partner delivering the academic programme (PGDip/MA in Social Work). Whilst the Think Ahead academic posts will be primarily aligned with the Think Ahead programme there will also be opportunities to engage with the wider social work programmes being delivered across the Department including BA/MA and CPD. The Social Work Academic Group is part of the Department of Mental Health and Social Work which is an exciting, multidisciplinary group of academics and technical staff, with three active research centres in the areas of addictions, co-production and transcultural health. Successful candidates will have a proven background in UK social work practice with specialist experience in mental health and academic qualifications at postgraduate level (normally masters or equivalent). You should be able to work collaboratively, and have experience of working with social work students in practice. Ability to deliver high quality teaching and facilitation of learning within a HEI environment and in practice settings; drawing on knowledge across social work including in relation to mental health, adult practice and with children and families. You will be working within a department and school that embraces breadth and depth of research themes and priorities and you will play an active role in supporting research and knowledge transfer activities. As the Think Ahead programme is a national programme, students will be undertaking their practice experience across England and travel to some placement sites will be required by academic staff.
