We are seeking to appoint two social work lecturers to join our growing Social Work Academic Group. Middlesex University is the academic partner for Think Ahead; a  national, mental health social work programme and whilst the  post will primarily be aligned with the Think Ahead programme, there will also be opportunities to influence the wider social work programmes being delivered across the group including BA/MA Social Work and CPD.

Posts can be based in London and are also available for remote working  with interested candidates residing in the Midlands, North West or North East of England (with some travel for placement and Campus visits).

The Social Work Academic Group is part of the Department of Mental Health and Social Work which is an exciting, multidisciplinary group of academics and technical staff, with three active research centres in the areas of addictions, co-production and transcultural health.

Successful candidates will have a proven background in social work and academic qualifications at postgraduate level (normally masters or equivalent). You should be able to work collaboratively, and have experience of delivering high quality teaching and facilitation of learning within a HEI environment and/or in  practice  settings. Candidates should have practice experience in adult mental health and also have skills and knowledge gained in working with adults, plus children and families. The post is located within a Department and Faculty  that embraces breadth and depth of research themes and priorities, where you will play an active role in supporting research and knowledge transfer activities.

As the Think Ahead programme is a national programme, with students undertaking their practice experiences across England, the post holder will be assigned to cover placement units located across England which usually requires regular travel although at present the work is home-based.

An enhanced DBS check will be required for these posts.
