We are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse working as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP), to join our team of Nursing Academics in supporting student learning – particularly in our post-registration nursing provision. The appointment will be at either Lecturer grade 7 or Senior Lecturer grade 8.
You will get the opportunity to work with our teams, developing skills for use with educational technologies in the classroom, online and in our skills labs, to support the development of qualified nursing colleagues undertaking a range of post-registration modules and programmes. You will work with Programme Leads, students and within our state-of-the-art clinical skills facility for the equivalent of four days each week (0.8fte). The remainder of your time will be spent working within your existing practice setting in a clinical or education post.
You will have a clinical background as an ENP, and ideally be qualified as a Non-Medical Prescriber. You will be contributing to the delivery and leadership of a suite of post-registration modules, on minor illness / injuries, physical assessment and, potentially, non-medical prescribing. You need to have excellent communication and team working skills, be able to engage with a variety of stakeholders, and demonstrate positive professional and educational role modelling. You need to bring creative ideas and clinical expertise to support the development of our post-registration nursing students in the classroom and clinical skills lab. You will need to adapt quickly to using a variety of digital and other learning technologies and be able to participate in change at pace. You need to have a passion for supporting and developing yourself and others.
This is an exciting development opportunity for existing nurse educators or registered nurses with expertise in working as ENPs, wishing to pursue a career in nursing education. Career development support and mentoring will be offered as part of your career development plan.
It is highly recommended that prior to application, candidates discuss and seek support to take up this opportunity with their current line managers, and upload as part of their application – confirmation that they have already secured agreement for the secondment.
